Psychoanalytic Group Work
Psychoanalytic group work offers a unique space where members can explore not only their individual experiences but also the dynamics that emerge within the group itself. This approach helps uncover unconscious patterns, feelings, and conflicts that may influence how people relate to each other and to their work.
In group sessions, I facilitate a safe, reflective environment where members can think together, share openly, and support one another’s growth. By observing and discussing the interactions within the group, we gain insight into how these patterns might show up in professional or personal contexts.
My role is to help the group hold these complexities—encouraging curiosity, deep listening, and thoughtful reflection. This process can strengthen the group’s cohesion, enhance understanding, and offer new ways of thinking about challenges and relationships.
Whether the group is newly formed or established, psychoanalytic group work supports collective learning, emotional resilience, and personal development.
Psychoanalytic Work Discussion Groups
In addition, I offer psychoanalytic work discussion groups—structured spaces where professionals can bring clinical cases or work-related challenges for collective reflection. These groups provide an opportunity to deepen understanding, gain fresh perspectives, and process emotional responses in a supportive, confidential setting.
To support group learning, I can facilitate the identification of relevant reading materials tailored to the group’s needs. Over the years I’ve been working with groups, I have developed an extensive library of resources that can help deepen understanding of workplace dynamics. This experience spans brief and long-term work with a variety of groups, including workers supporting infants and families, adolescent teams in inpatient or day services, as well as foster carers and adoptive families.
